Welcome to Ashby Hall's inaugural blog for the Politics and International Affairs Committee. We have been very active in providing awareness to residents on international politics.
As part of our ongoing regional spotlight, we are currently focusing on Africa and the Sudan, which was previously subjected to genocide and conflict. In order to create awareness on this issue, we will be having a movie showing of HOTEL RWANDA on November 14 in the Ashby TV Lounge.
Previous regions to be spotlighted have been Venezuela and France.
The committee has bigger plans of getting involved in the Harrisonburg community, but are currently in the works. More details will be posted once finalised.
Thats all for this week. Please check back frequently so you can be up-to-date on the events of Ashby's 'International Politicians'.
TONIGHT is the showing of Hotel Rwanda in the T.V. lounge. It will start a 9 pm instead of 8 so that people with comittee meetings will still be able to come. It's an incredible and important film so I hope you all will come out to see it. There will be pizza after the movie.
Our committee team is looking foward to tearing it up on the soccer field this friday. Make sure to come out and play or cheer!
We are still sorting out our service project, but we should know in the next couple weeks.
